The Defenders defeated the Charlotte Cobras 18 - 14 at Frisco ISD Memorial Stadium. Charlotte lead at halftime 14 - 6 but the Defenders settled down in the second half and came back to win the game. The Defenders will now play for the National Championship on June 26th.

The Dallas Defenders coordinated a football camp at the Gainesville State School (Maximum Security Juvenile Detention Center). The Defenders instructed basic skills for the State School football team. The Defenders ate lunch with the kids after camp and it was positive experience for everyone. Defenders traveled to Austin, Texas to battle the Central Texas Wolf Pack. The Defenders were victorious 28 - 12 and maintained the "Best in Texas" trophy.

The Defenders traveled to Bakersfield, California to play the 2009 NPSFL Division II Champions. The Defenders had big plays on offense, defense and special teams. Dallas led 23-12 at halftime. In the end it was a Dallas victory 36-18.

The President of the Dallas Defenders, Marc Courville, was named a top 10 Finalist out of over 80 nominees for the Dallas Cowboys Community Quarterback Award. Marc was presented with a trophy and the Dallas Defenders were awarded a check for $500.00.
The Dallas Cowboys Community Quarterback Award volunteer recognition program was designed to help identify local volunteers who demonstrate leadership, dedication and a commitment to bettering the Dallas-Fort Worth community. Now in its tenth year, the award has granted nearly $200,000 in funds to worthwhile non-profits on behalf of their hard working volunteers.
A Community Quarterback Award panel composed of team representatives and local media reviewed the nominations for the award. The panelists included Calvin Hill - former Dallas Cowboys and team consultant, Babe Laufenberg - KTVT-TV CBS 11 Sports Anchor, Brad Sham - Dallas Cowboys Radio Play-By-Play, Kristi Scales - Dallas Cowboys Radio Sideline Reporter, Mrs. Gene Jones - Dallas Cowboys Charities Chairman of the Board and Mrs. Charlotte Anderson - Dallas Cowboys Executive Vice President.

Santa and members of the Dallas Defenders visited the children at Children's Medical Center in Plano. Santa arrived by Careflite helicopter and greeted children throughout the hospital. Santa and the Defenders handed out gifts to the children. Police and Fire vehicles were at the hospital for the children to view.

The Defenders were upset by the Columbus Marauders 27-20 in Columbus to give the Defenders their only loss of the 2009 season. The Defenders were unable to capitalize on several opportunities throughout the game which unfortunately kept the game close. The Marauders were then able to score during the closing seconds of the game.

The Defenders defeated the New York Strongest 33-14 in the heavy rain. The Defenders scored on the first play from scrimmage with a touchdown pass to wide receiver Chris Perry #28. The defense held their own in the first half as the Defenders went into halftime 12-0. The second half continued after a rain delay and the Defender offense continued to move the ball even in the rain. The defense secured the victory as cornerback Jay Alexander #8 intercepted a pass and ran it back for a touchdown. Dallas will travel to Columbus, Ohio for their final regular season game.

The Defenders battled the Central Texas Wolf Pack for the Southwest Conference Championship and the "Best in Texas" trophy. Central Texas took a 14 - 9 lead into halftime. In the second half, the Defenders scored on their final drive to make the score 22 - 17 and win the championship.

The Defenders played the Houston Gunners in Houston. The offense got the Defenders on the scoreboard early with their first drive. The defense created several turnovers as the Defenders shutout the Gunners 34 - 0.
